Just Cause 3 Official Trailer Out Today: New wingsuit makes control easier; DLCs expected after 2015 winter release

By

Tweets from Just Cause 3's official Twitter, managed by both game developer Avalanche Studios and game publisher Square Enix, posted teasers recently indicating that the upcoming open-world action-adventure game's official trailer will be released by 28 April (US date).

The account posted a GIF that said, "Gameplay reveal trailer coming April 28th," with the caption, "And the chaos ensues."

A previous tweet not long before that said, "Di Ravello is gathering his forces. We need 1000 new Rebels! RT & follow to uncover more!"

This is the first official pronouncement from the people behind Just Cause 3 about the trailer release, which for the past week was incorrectly announced to be coming out back then.

The upcoming trailer is a follow-up to the one released in February.

New images and screen caps for Just Cause 3 can be seen here in the meantime while waiting for 28 April.

"Just Cause gives you that feeling of being twelve years old. You almost have the mind of an adult. You understand the world. But everyone's taller than you. The moon is bigger. The stars are big. You get into a car and it's big. It's this sense of wonder and learning new things. New smells, new tastes. And games have a unique ability to give us that emotion," said game director Roland Lesterlin in an interview earlier this month.

"Compared to other open-world games, we push more towards the sandbox. But as outrageous as it is, we're still grounded in reality in a lot of ways. Take the wingsuit. It feels real because it's fast, and when you hit the ground it's a little aggressive. But you can fly for long distances without losing momentum. I think when you get too absurd it damages your sense of escapism," he added.

Lesterlin mentioned they wanted to make sure the new trailer will not fail to impress when seen by fans.

Aside from the improved gameplay and design, both box-sold and downloaded purchases are to look forward to DLCs after the game's planned 2015 Windows PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 winter release.

"Beyond launch, we are likely to look into DLC packs and items as part of our ambition to support Just Cause 3 and its players for many years to come, but until that time we're completely focused on making the best Just Cause game we possibly can. Rest assured it will be a huge, fully packed and extremely rewarding experience right out of the gate," said Avalanche Studios' chief creative officer and co-founder Christopher Sundberg on the company's official website.

Just Cause 3 is set on the fictional Mediterranean island Medici, which is the home of series protagonist Rico Rodriguez and under control of dictator General Di Ravello. The map size has been confirmed to be 1,000 km2 which will allow vertical exploration (both skybound and subterranean).
