Confusion is never an element people want to associate with playing a game, but gamers currently enjoying "Grand Theft Auto V" on the PC are now finding themselves more confused than ever as accounts using mods continue to be banned for seemingly different reasons.
Understandably, any mods that may give any one player an unfair advantage over others would be grounds for being banned, but what's causing the confusion at this point is why accounts that are only utilizing cosmetic mods, or mods that only alter how characters and the game itself may look, are also being banned. The biggest point of contention is the FOV or field of view mod, because even though it only changes how players may see inside the game, this particular mod apparently trips anti-cheat protection software in the game, according to Express UK.
Players who have been banned for using this mod believe it happened because the mod itself affected the game's memory. The FOV mod is considered to be a cosmetic mod, and the people behind Rockstar Games themselves have already stated that those kinds of mods won't constitute a ban, hence all the confusion.
For now, Rockstar Games has not yet announced the different kinds of mods that may lead to banishment. Despite the looming threat of banishment, players have still used the thought to be harmless mods in the game, including mods that affect the game's physics and the characters' appearances.
The so-called Ragdoll mod, which affects the movement of the characters, has been one of the more popular ones, and with the mod causing the characters to just suddenly fall over themselves in the silliest ways, it's hard not to see why it would be popular, according to PC Gamer.
Yet another cosmetic mod enables players to exchange their characters' traditional looks for those of animals, and the results are nothing short of hilarious, according to IGN Africa. Hopefully, those mods won't be grounds for banishment as well.
