The full 'Batman: Arkham Knight' experience looks like it will cost fans more than they may have expected

By

Fans eagerly awaiting "Batman: Arkham Knight" will have to ready their bank accounts as well, as this is one game that won't exactly be known for its affordability. The price of just the actual game itself is not too bad at $60. That number isn't cheap by any means, but it's also nothing unexpected when it comes to a game getting this much buzz.

What's likely to make people really think twice about getting the game though is the price of additional content to be included in the game's season pass. To get their hands on that part of the game, fans will have to fork over an additional $40, according to Polygon.

It's one thing if the content in the season pass introduced only inconsequential add-ons that would at most be just cosmetic additions to the game, but the fact is that players who choose not to put up the extra money for whatever reason will really be missing out.

The content found in the season pass includes some inclusions that gamers can let go of if need be such as the extra Batmobile skins and character skins, additional challenge maps, and extra race tracks, but some other things there are essential to "Batman: Arkham Knight," according to Wired UK.

Any longtime fan of the franchise will likely not feel satisfied with just completing the $60 version of the game if they don't put up the extra $40 needed to gain access to the new story missions and new villains.

A premium edition of "Batman: Arkham Knight" is also available, and it will contain the downloadable content pass in addition to the game itself, according to Gamespot. Unfortunately, since it retails for $100, it offers absolutely no savings on the part of the player.

Time will tell if the high prices will affect sales of the game. "Batman: Arkham Knight" will be released on June 23 for the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
