2NE1 is one of the big girl groups under YG Entertainment in South Korea. Yet, after years of being on top of success, issues of disbandment seemed to on high again. This year, many of their fans are expecting that this girl band will finally close their book as a group for several reasons revealed.
There are many reasons to figure out why this girl band has come to an end after years of being together as one of South Korea's top of the list groups under the mentioned network. They first appeared in 2009 with members CL, Minzy, Dara, and Park Bom.
After 6 years, they might be finally disband this year since last year's predictions. Recently, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk explained about the group's contract to expire by next year. This is one of the big reasons why fans started to cry and to worry for the disbandment.
Unlike the other groups like Big Bang, which he certainly affirm to have them for another 9 years with their contract renewal, for 2NE1's case, it is different. He said that they have to wait until CL is going to finish all her solo activities before the network will renew their contract.
Sadly, CL chose to renew her contract as a solo artist, not with the group anymore. This saddens everyone. Other reports said that she even plans to step up for US tours and projects later on. If this happens, having 2NE1 together will be just grains of salt.
But You Suk, the analyst, said that CL will be on US for her album release for the first half of the year and with the rest of the year, she will be with the girl band again. Yet, this is filled with a lot of scepticism as there might be a possibility that she will not come back again and fulfil her dreams as a solo performer as mentioned.
Right now, YG Entertainment mentioned that they themselves are now skeptical if CL will still come back to 2NE1 since she has already made several appearances with other American artists like Skrillex with their new hit single, "Dirty Vibe."
However, the network emphasized that usually what happens for successful Asian artists are usually not having positive breaks in the United States. That is why they are still optimistic that she will come back amid speculations that 2NE1 will never be together again.
