While some things did not turn out positively after Bruce Jenner confessed about being a transgender woman recently, many things have been turning quite well for the former athlete. Wheaties cereal boxes that have a picture of Jenner are being auctioned now on Ebay for hundreds of dollars. Other celebrities have continued to show their support such as actresses Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
A CHAMPION IN THEIR EYES
According to a report, bids were as high as $255 while one Twitter user was selling his mint condition box for $500. Bruce Jenner has been an endorser of General Mills' Wheaties cereal a year after winning a gold medal for decathlon during the 1976 Summer Olympics. The box had a picture of him that said "Breakfast of Champions." Transgender actress Laverne Cox of Orange is the New Black even said that the wheaties cereal box is better than a gold medal. Other netizens suggested that General Mills put Bruce in another box of Wheaties saying he is a bigger champion now. Other memorabilia of magnets and towels with Bruce's picture have also been on sale.
BRUCE GENDER
Meanwhile, different kinds of support have continued to pour in for Bruce Jenner. Actress Jane Fonda has been one of the latest celebrities to have admired the TV personality. In a report, Fonda said it was very brave of Jenner to have shared his journey with the rest of the world. She wished him good luck. Actress Lily Tomlin also thought that what Jenner did was a good and brave thing.
Bruce Jenner's ex-wife Linda Thompson on the other hand posted a picture of her, Bruce and his ex-wife Chrystie Scott on Instagram. While it was not mentioned when the picture of the trio was taken, the two ex-wives have earlier expressed their support during the Diane Sawyer interview.
Bruce Jenner's journey as a transgender woman might have been met with criticisms. However, the overflow of support not just of celebrities like Jane Fonda or Lily Tomlin but of people from all walks of life will keep him stronger than he has ever been as a champion athlete, without needing to eat those Wheaties cereals.
