ENCOURAGING COURAGE
A report says Bruce Jenner has been vocal about reviving his career as a motivational speaker. The former decathlon athlete used to earn $5000 per speaking engagement during the late 70s. With his coming out, he could have a bigger audience. It quoted life coach expert Seth Rainess as saying that Bruce will be so in demand and could earn tens of thousands per event.
Maria Keisling, the Director of the National Center for Transgender and Equality meanwhile supports Jenner. In a report, she said Jenner will be of great help and inspiration to a number of transgenders who for a long time have been afraid of public scrutiny. She added that Bruce's coming out was not at all easy, more so with having to face the community. In his interview with Diane Sawyer, Jenner has already emphasized that he is not doing it for the money. He believes that he can change the world by giving others encouragement.
DISCOURAGEMENT
Some netizens however are still not convinced on this. One of them is Emily Zanotti, an American blogger and columnist.
"Leave it to the Kardashians to turn something as sensitive as transitioning gender into a money making scheme," she said on Twitter.
"They are really inspiring capitalists and I'm not being sarcastic," another replied.
Either way, there is no stopping Bruce Jenner's transgender journey. Whether others disapprove of it, Jenner is determined to embark on a familiar career with the aim of being a good role model.
