The "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" is one of the much anticipated film that marks the comeback of our favorite fighters. An alleged theme song of the movie reboot is already making rounds in the internet making fans wonder if a film reboot is already underway. Meanwhile the movie reboot seems to be push in a later date and will premiere after the release of the "Mortal Kombat X" video game.
A "Mortal Kombat" theme song was recently released online and is rapidly gaining popularity. The song was initially thought to be the official theme-song for the "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" movie but it turns out to be a fan made adaptation of the game's theme-song. The short a capella version came from the popular comedy group, The Warp Zone. The group is well-known for it's a capella version of the theme-songs of several other shows like "Sponge Bob Square Pants" and the "Powerpuff Girls."
The original "Mortal Kombat" theme was released back in 1994 and featured a thumping techno groove released by the group, "The Immortals." How The Warp Zone managed to create an entertaining and close to perfect adaptation of the theme song was quite stunning and entertaining in equal proportions.
A 2016 release was rumored for the "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" film alongside with the release of the video game "Mortal Kombat X." Unfortunately, the video game was already released earlier this April and yet no movie adaptation or announcement is yet to be revealed. The "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" film remains to announce a director, writer or possible casts for the upcoming film.
The "Mortal Kombat" series is known for its superb fighting styles in film and in the video games. The earlier released video game "Mortal Kombat X" is even creating a range of positive and negative criticisms about its gruesome fatalities depicted in the video game. Is this something we should look forward to in the upcoming "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" film?
It was earlier rumored that the "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" will be released together with the "Mortal Kombat X" video game. This obviously didn't happen and make fans wonder why the collaborative release didn't push as planned. Ed Boon remains mum about a movie reboot release even if the "Mortal Kombat X" was proven to be a success. Is the franchise tasting its waters or is a big announcement for the movie "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" on the way?
Nonetheless, fans are keeping their fingers crossed that a movie reboot announcement is already on the way. Producers will definitely seize the opportunity to go forward in making a movie after the recent success of the "Mortal Kombat X" release.
