Nokia N1 Tablet Release in Taiwan this Week: Sturdy Build, Decent Specs, Z Launcher and More

By

The Nokia N1 tablet is set to conquer other Asian countries after being released in Taiwan recently.

The Nokia N1 tablet was released middle of this week in Taiwan for roughly US$270, targeting the low to mid range market. It is not yet known if and when the tablet is going to be released in other regions.

The Wi-Fi only device, the first product released by Nokia since its Microsoft acquisition, was released exclusively in China at the start of the year. It was only after getting a good response from the Chinese market that the company decided to offer it to other countries - starting with those in Asia.

If it is that the company no longer has plans to manufacture other mobile devices, this could be everyone's last chance to own an authentic - not to mention sturdy - Nokia. It's just too bad the Nokia N1 tablet does not have any phone capabilities. This could be due to the fact that they are no longer allowed to use the name Nokia on any smartphone device until 2017, and on feature phones until 2025.

As for specifications, the Nokia N1 tablet has a 7.9-inch (2048x1536 pixel) IPS LED-backlit display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It has a 64-bit 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor (4 cores, 4 threads) with a PowerVR G6430 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 (800MHz) RAM.

The Nokia N1 tablet has 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. For the main cam, it has an 8MP one and for the secondary a 5MP. Its power source is a non-removable Li-Ion 5300mAh battery.

It has the predictive Nokia Z Launcher interface on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Connectivity options on Nokia N1 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/n/ac with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB with reversible Type-C connector, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Receiving mixed reviews, the device is still expected by people to arrive in their countries so they could check it out themselves.

At the very least, this writer wants to get his hands on the Nokia N1 tablet. It's sure to last for years, given Nokia's reputation for building sturdy products.
