Dead Island 2 is an upcoming action role-playing that comes with a survival horror video game design. However, the sequel will be delayed for release because of inability to achieve the goal of finishing the upgraded sequel on time.

Yager Development, the game developer for Dead Island 2, explained through their official statement that they have to make their hard decision to delay the game's release to 2016 from the planned Spring 2015 launching. They mentioned that they have wanted to make it this year but their inability to reach to deadline is the main cause of delaying it. The delay was rooted to the required time needed for the upgrades done for the game that comes with so much upgraded level of action and new characters to add roster from the previously released Dead Island installment.

Yager also stated that the innate nature of the Dead Island's multiple set of characters playing the co-op mode of the game that turns the paradise setting to a chaotic zombie slaughter melee. Because of that need to transform the in-game design of Dead Island, there is a lot to adjust and to add to the content and at the same time the combat options for the players.

Conceptualizing the entire game is "long and hard" for the game developer, as revealed. They said that up to this date, since they have announced about the delay, they are now focusing to the development. They acknowledged the disappointment from the fans but they have nothing to do with it except to accept that fact to come up with the best game they could play to their respective platforms.

Reports also stated that there are a lot of things to expect for the game thereafter. These will be seen during the game's release in 2016 in PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. For now, what the fans could do so far is to keep updated for Dead Island 2 release updates.
