Everything comes to a boiling point in the Gotham Season 1 finale. Fox's 22nd episode of its crime drama television series is entitled "All Happy Families Are Alike" and it will be aired on Monday, May 4.
The official footage confirms the long brewing notion that Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Sal Maroni (David Zayas) will form an unholy alliance. Both will battle it out toe-to-toe with more than a couple of main characters in the tv series. First the duo will rain down bullets on James 'Jim' Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue). Then both will slugged it out with the returning Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) as the night club owner wants to lay claim to a higher position in Gotham's crime underworld.
An all-out gang war will also be ignited by the cunning Oswald as he successfully frames Carmine "The Roman" Falcone (John Doman) for the unsuccessful killing of his new partner Maroni. This 'turning of the table' for Oswald will somehow bring the Gotham Police Department to its knees.
Another spoiler for Gotham Season 1 finale will have Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) searching for telltale signs in the Wayne Manor about Bruce's parents before they died. The young Bruce eventually will discover an undisclosed area of the manor which in the near future will become the Batcave. It was also indicated that Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Morenna Bacarrin), will strike a new friendship after the incident with the Ogre.
Creator Bruno Heller describe the upcoming episode in TVGuide as, "a big, boffo climax ending" which will eventually tie up all loose ends that have been heedlessly dangling throughout the season one. Unfortunately, as what has long been circulated, this will be the last appearance for the 43-year-old Jada Pinkett-Smith despite her quite "astonishing" entrance in the Gotham Season 1 finale. Smith's character has long been speculated to have died especially with the peril which she had gotten herself into.
