A new cast for the horror movie "Ouija 2" will be expected as it hits cinemas just in time for Halloween on October 21, 2016. Writers of the Oculus movie will be in charge of the plot.
A report has confirmed that viewers will see a sequel to the 2014 horror flick "Ouija" under Universal Pictures. New screenwriters Jeff Howard and Mike Flanagan are set to do the plot. Aside from the doing the screenplay for the horror flick Oculus, Flanagan was said to have directed the said movie. Meanwhile, big time producers such as Michael Bay, Blumhouse Prods' Jason Blum, Hasbros' Brian Goldner, Brad Fuller, Stephen Davis and Andrew Form have partnered with Platinum Dunes for the new film. "Ouija 2" centers on innocent teenager friends who face what they get with trying to call a bad spirit from an Ouija board game. They themselves are the only ones who could send back the evil spirit.
In the first movie, five teenagers play an Ouija board to contact their friend who passed away. This leads them to being disturbed by a supernatural force. Although the low-budget film only got a 4% positive review and a C cinema score, a lot have watched the film that had a gross of $50.8 million domestically and $1 million worldwide. This despite spending only $5 million in production. A report says "Ouija 2" will be shown almost the same time as Geostorm, a science fiction thriller that stars Gerard Butler. Moreover, new characters could be seen.
Meanwhile, a source says Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), Ana Coto, Douglas Smith (Big Love), Bianca Santos (The Fosters) and Daren Kagasoff (Secret Life of an American Teenager) still play the five teenagers.
