The upcoming characters included in Disney Infinity 3,0 have finally be confirmed. The hybrid toy's Star Wars characters are reported to be a combination of popular characters from across its franchise, reiterating the company's purpose of making the toys enjoyable for all generations.
After weeks of speculation and a rather somber reception over at the Disney camp, things are finally clearing up. Disney Infinity 3.0 has finally announced its new characters, apparently confirming the leaked images and speculations from last week.
According to both Lucasfilm and Disney, the hybrid toy will be featuring three playsets, namely Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic. Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Each set will feature prominent characters from the timelines they represent.
Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic will feature characters from Episodes I - III, and players can use the Force and enjoy epic lightsaber battles. It will feature figurines of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Darth Maul.
The playset Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire is based on the original trilogy (Episodes IV -VI) where players can go on missions across the galaxy. Players can use X-wing fighters of even the Millenium Falcon to explore and/fight stormtroopers, as well as go on foot around different planets. Figurines for this playset include Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, and Darth Vader.
The third playset Star Wars: The Force Awakens is based on the upcoming film and will be available by winter this year.
Disney has also announced other information regarding the upcoming Disney Infinity 3.0 release, and this includes new gameplays and other playsets that will join the Star Wars release. The rumor of a playset based on the upcoming Disney-Pixar film Inside Out has been confirmed, as well as a Marvel Playset that has the character from the latest Avengers movie. Other characters confirmed are Sam Flynn and Quorra (Tron: Legacy), Mulan, Mickey, Minnie, and Olaf.
With all these characters and playsets finally confirmed, Disney Infinity 3.0 is set to be released by the end of the year, but fans can go ahead am pre-order over at the official Disney Infinity website.
