Many celebrities were chosen as the best dressed during the Met Gala 2015 held in New York on Monday night. Men celebrities however had their own fashion to show while only a few were able to sport the Chinese look as this year's theme.
BEST DRESSED
Different reports came out as to who wore it best and who did not in the Met Gala 2015. One source picked 9 of the best dressed. Amal Clooney was one of them who came in a red layered gown. Kim Kardashian was also a head turner with a white body-hugging beaded dress that covered only her private parts and a short train made of feathers. Beyonce was fashionably late with almost the same style of outfit as Kim but hers was silver. Jennifer Lopez's red see through gown was also a standout leaving only a little to one's imagination. The three did not need to wear underwears. Kendall Jenner meanwhile was stunning in a green Calvin Klein gown flaunting the sides of her body.
WHO WORE CHINESE
The theme of this year's Met Gala is "China: Through the Looking Glass". While many did not seem to be informed about the motif, there were a number who stuck to it. One of them is Emily Blunt who wore a light blue Chinese dress and a cape. Anne Hathaway was in an emperor-inspired Ralph Lauren gold dress with a hoodie. Selena Gomez meanwhile kept in simple in a white Vera Wang dress and matched it with a flower headdress of the same color. Rihanna turned more heads with her yellow cape gown that had the longest trail during the event with a matching head piece. Jennifer Lawrence had a floral print in her gown while Rita Ora represented Chinese culture in a red Cheongsam frock.
DON'T FORGET THE MEN
Aside from women celebrities, men also made their mark in the fashion showdown. On a men's magazine list was Justin Bieber who at least stuck to the theme with a black blazer that had a golden dragon embroidery on it. Adam Brody's tuxedo also had a Chinese-theme print. Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka wore matching tuxedos with white vests and bowties.
Besides looking for the best dress, the main highlight of the Met Gala 2015 is the fundraising for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. The Met Gala is the opening of an annual fashion exhibit at the said venue which starts on May 7.
