Other than the upcoming Mortal Kombat X Predator DLC following the recent release of the Horror Pack, fans also received some exciting news when NetherRealm Studios Co-Creator Ed Boon posted on Twitter a promotional material of a Broadway show entitled, 'Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles'.
The Twitter post says "Hmmmm... I do love the Beatles" which, obviously, Mortal Kombat gaming fans take that Boon is not talking about the tribute concert, but the legendary Mortal Kombat character, Rain, who first appeared in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
Rumours about Rain's character whether playable came out when he was seen in the game's trailer that appeared in January and later, the speculation was sustained when both Rain and Cyrax had mods named after them in the Living Towers challenge.
While Rain has not been officially confirmed as a playable character, a modder XVermillion posted videos to YouTube of Rain, Sindel, and Baraka in a training mode on Windows PC along with the explanation on how he did it.
Another highly anticipated character is the Predator, which is introduced in a short trailer last March along with Jason, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and newcomer Kung Jin. While the video doesn't show any fighting moves of Predator, it shows the character model with its retractable wrist blades. It will be interesting to see if the Predator's cloaking skills will be included in the character's special skills as well as his plasma blaster that we saw in the movie.
The Predator DLC is called 'The Predator / Prey Pack' which comes with Predator's character and also packed with Predator-themed skins Commando Johnny, Infrared Scorpion and Carl Weathers as Jax.
The first DLC added to Mortal Kombat X is The Ultimate Horror Pack introducing Jason Voorhees from the horror movie Friday the 13th that is now available to Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Three more downloadable game expansion packs for Mortal Kombat X following the release of the first DLC this week are on their way as announced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
