Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, one of the most anticipated action-adventure third-person shooter game for Playstation 4, just started getting a One Piece feel to it.
Yes, you read right. We said One Piece, the Japanese Anime/Manga featuring the Straw Hat Pirates.
Game publisher Sony just updated their official website with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End listing which is given a subtitle called The Pirate and The Last Treasure.
As far as Japan is concerned, it will be called Uncharted 4: The Pirate and the Last Treasure. For everyone else, it's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
Fans who saw this immediately took to online message boards saying there were similarities between the game and the famous Shonen Jump series.
According to initial reaction to the game and its trailer, it is said that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is dark and foreboding compared to its predecessor, The Last of Us, which could mean more focus on the background as well as the future difficulties of the main character Nathan Drake. Also, the initial trailer gave fans an idea that the upcoming game allows for more room to make decisions on where players would go and which path to take in the game.
Developer Naughty Dog is also being expected to improve gameplay, especially with some criticism seen on the sneaking, crafting, and gun handling aspects of the game.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is set three years after the previous game's events. Retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake settled into a normal life, but his thought-to-be-deceased older brother Sam suddenly appears seeking for his help. Together they try to uncover a conspiracy behind a long lost pirate colony and its fabled pirate treasure.
Originally slated for a 2015 release, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was initially teased at the Sony Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2014. Its release was pushed back to Q1 2016 to allow for better development.
"So we've made the difficult choice of pushing the game's release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End not only meets the team's high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.
Thank you for your patience - we know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you'll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year. The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake's story gets the closure it deserves. Come Spring 2016, you and Nate are in for one thrilling, emotional ride," game directors Bruce Straley and Nathan Druckmann wrote in their Sony blog post in March.
Druckmann also mentioned they were working on a multi-player mode previously.
Perhaps more information regarding Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be revealed at the 2015 E3 in June?
