The Gran Turismo 7 development team now has a highly experienced audio personnel joining them raising the expectation of fans eagerly awaiting for the game's late 2015/early 2016 release.
Reports looking into Mike Caviezel's public profile, revealed he is currently on board with game developer Polyphony Digital and is currently working on Gran Turismo as a senior audio lead. He started working there in April.
A summary of his profile reads: "18 years of experience in professional audio, 13+ years of experience in game audio, progressing from casual PC titles to AAA Xbox console games." He specializes in audio management, sound design, field recording, music composition, music production dialog supervision, and post-production.
Fans in various forums welcomed the highly experienced Caviezel joining, hoping they will get a better audio experience from the game.
While Gran Turismo is a good game, many have noted a seemingly glaring area of improvement for the game: the sound of the cars. That particular sound has been compared time and again to the sound of a vaccum.
Caviezel formerly worked on Forza Motorsport, a game on various Xbox platforms, as an audio lead. Forza is noted for its realistic-sounding car motor sounds, and has been a close competitor since 2005.
The new Gran Turismo developer previously worked on other titles as well, such as Peggle Blast, Ryse: Son of Rome, Fable: Journey, and Halo 4. He has also worked with clients like Microsoft, Playground Games, Signal Studios and Electronic Arts.
Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) is an upcoming racing game -- the 13th game in the series -- is being developed by Polyphony Digital and will be published by Sony for the Playstation 4.
With someone like Caviezel working on the audio aspect of the game, it will come as no surprise that the car sound and noises will sound the way they should. Gran Turismo 7 could be the game to beat with him around.
