Actor Josh Charles who starred in the TV series The Good Wife will land a major role in the new and third season of Showtime's Masters of Sex. The Dead Poet Society star will play as a salesman who plans to introduce an aphrodisiac scent to the market.
SEX PERFUME BUSINESSMAN
A report says that in Showtime's Masters of Sex Season 3, The Good Wife's Josh Charles is Daniel Logan, an independent businessman who discovers making a perfume that has the smell of sex. He enters into the lives of mainstays William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) by seeking their opinion on the idea. Masters and Johnson are expert researchers on human sexuality. However, Logan's relationship with them will be in conflict because he has feelings for Johnson.
The TV series's new season will be set in the year 1966 which is said to be the start of the Sexual Revolution. Masters and Johnson become instant national figures as they publicize their controversial sex study which has a deep effect on modern relationships. This includes their own love triangle affair with Master's wife Libby (Caitlin Fitgerald) as the third person involved.
REAL AND REEL
Masters of Sex is actually an adaptation of the real-life work of William Masters and Virginia Johnson entitled "Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple who taught America to Love". Not all of what is shown in the series happened in real life though.
A report says the series was adapted from the book documented by Thomas Maier which was later developed as a drama series by Michelle Ashford and produced by Sony Pictures Television.
Masters of Sex Season 3 premieres on July 12 at Showtime where new cast such as Josh Charles as well as Maggie Grace will appear.
