Both Apple and Google will be releasing their latest mobile operating systems, with Apple expected to launch the iOS 9 at the WWDC 2015, and Google is set to introduce the Android M in the I/O 2015 event. Based on recent leaks and rumors, a table shows that each has its own unique features and benefits.
One of the expected features to come in Apple's iOS 9 is the redesigned Siri, while for Google's Android M would be the new Voice access and proximity-based communication.
Android M
Whether intentional or unintentional, an Android M was spotted on the Google's official I/O 2015 program calendar. The search engine company later deleted the term "Android M" from the list.
The upcoming Android M, either 5.5 or 6.0, is expected to power Google's Nexus 2015 device. It was also said that the letter M means "Muffin." What the next Android version would feature is the upgraded Material Design version 2.0, which is expected to be discussed at the Google I/O event. Basically, the Material Design will improve the Nexus 2105 user interface, resulting to a "minimalistic, straightforward, and engaging" UI experience.
iOS 9
While Google is on the path of releasing the Android M, Apple would respond by launching the iOS 9. The latest iOS version is expected to bring loads of improvements from the iOS 8, like fixes on performance, stability, and security.
MacStories Federico Vitrici's post was seen sharing highlights of the Apple mobile OS. The features that the iOS would bring are fixes on the iOS extensions issues, especially on the discoverability aspect, and the option to allow users make lots of personalization in it. Overall, the iOS 9 tchnology would be more useful, approachable, and impressive.
Both the iOS 9 and the Android M are expected to be introduced this year before the release of their flagship carriers.
