It has been recently announced by both companies that there is going to be a collaboration happening soon. And soon means 2017. Marvel Entertainment and Telltale games have both announced that they will be working together for a project and there has been very little information about it.
Announced during a special event in San Francisco last April 23, Marvel Entertainment and Telltale games confirmed that they are collaborating for a new Marvel-Telltale game project set to premiere in 2017. Although there have not been any information regarding this project yet from both companies, fans are excited about it. There have been so many speculations as to what the project will be, but people are guessing that it will be huge. Judging from the success of both companies in their respective industries, this project is going to be something to look forward to.
Judging by the reputation of both companies, we can speculate that the upcoming game or games will be epic. Marvel Entertainment having a lot of titles under its belt, could opt for any of their blockbuster movies (Avengers, Spider-man, X-Men, etc.,), of some from any of their hit series (Daredevil, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), or maybe even from one of their hordes of comic books. With all the hit super heroes (and villains) associated with Marvel, our guess us as good as anyone else's.
But we one also needs to consider Telltale Games' gaming style. Known for their solid story-telling aspects in their games, the collaboration could produce an adventure games that has heavy story dependence in an attempt to make the game extremely engaging. Previous games like The Walking Dead, Jurassic Park, The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, etc., have proven to strongly emphasize storytelling as a driving force to engage players, so we can probably speculate this future game to have the very same elements that most Telltale Games have.
With this news, fans are clamoring for more information. But a quick check over at Marvel's website as well as at Telltale games' shows very little information regarding the news. Both sites were mum about the collaboration and only tells fans to stay tuned. Well, there's two more years of speculation to go.
