Fans are salivating for any new piece of news regarding Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it looks like they are getting one paritcular bit of information concerning Jar Jar Binks that will make them very happy.
According to the film's director, J.J. Abrams, one of the things he desperately wanted to include in the extended trailer for the movie was an easter egg making a veiled reference to one particularly disliked character within the Star Wars universe.
Yes, if Abrams had gotten his wish, Jar Jar Binks death would have been hinted at in the extended trailer released for the movie, according to Mstarz. Abrams also said he wanted to make other references within the trailer, but relented when he began to feel as though they could have come off as looking forced.
This doesn't mean that Jar Jar Binks has survived the latest movie, as he could be very well killed off even just a few minutes into the new film, or at least some fans would hope that was the case. In other Star Wars: The Force Awakens news, the origins of Poe Dameron were also revealed during a recent interview, according to iDigital Times.
According to Oscar Isaac, the actor playing Dameron, his character is originally from the planet of Yavin 4. If that planet sounds familiar, that's because it was also the same one that played home to the Rebel Base. If this is indeed the case, then it is also entirely possible that Dameron could have been alive during the Rebels' fight against the Empire, or for at least the last parts of it.
It's unknown whether his origins will impact Dameron's role for the movie, but the backstory alone is reason enough to believe that it will. Lastly, The Guardian reports that the famous bounty hunter Boba Fett will be getting his very own spin-off movie.
The movie starring the bounty hunter will reportedly follow the upcoming Star Wars: Rogue One, to be released in December 2016.
