DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Joins Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl In DC’s Brilliant TV Stockpile; Constantine However Gets Canned By NBC

Two months ago, The CW had planned to have a "super powered team-up show". As a result, Arrow and The Flash will now have a spin-off as the network have greenlit DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/ Atom) and his dysfunctional bunch of heroes and villains will settle differences and work as a team in The Cw's new TV series. The actor will be joined by his Arrow colleague Caity Lotz, who portrayed Canary before her demise in Season 3. Lotz as reported before still has her role under wraps.

Covering the team coming from Central City, will be the criminals turned possible heroes, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart / Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory / Heat Wave and Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein. Arthur Darvill of Dr. Who fame will be portraying Rip Hunter the rogue time-traveler / martial arts expert in a mission to bring together these disparate characters in order to save not only the present but the future. Also joining the already familiar faces to television audiences will be Ciara Renée as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl and Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson.

In related news, DC Comics' Supergirl has also officially landed a series in The CW's sister network CBS. Supergirl will star Glee alum Melissa Benoist. On the other hand, Constantine another DC Comics' adaptation to the small screen has been axed by NBC. The occult-superhero drama series led by Matt Ryan has been plagued by the numbers game of tv ratings and Warner Bros. Television despite the setback has been working hard to sell the show on other networks.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow is set within the world of Arrow and The Flash and is brought by the same creative nucleus of 'Arrow' creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim. It will be distributed under Warner Bros. Television.
