‘Arrow’ Season 3 Finale, Episode 23 Spoilers: Oliver Ditches Alter Ego Al Sah-Him in ‘My Name Is Oliver Queen’

By

As the season finale of television series "Arrow" is forthcoming, new bouts will thwart the Team Arrow as the official synopsis of the finale entitled "My Name Is Oliver Queen" reveals current Ra's al Ghul finally embarking his final plan to endanger the lives of everyone. Also in the finale, protagonist Oliver, also known as his alter ego Al Sah-Him, might finally turn back against the League of Assassins. Will it be too late for him to redeem himself?

Although the episode 22 entitled "This Is Your Sword" is yet to air this May 6, speculations have already emerged on what will happen. Going back to the episode 21, protagonist Oliver Queen/Arrow (Stephen Amell) sacrificed his life in order to heal his sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland). He then chose to renounce his old life. He signed up to the League and picked the name "Al Sah-Him," gearing up to take over as the new "Ra's al Ghul" or the head of the League. Episode 21 also featured him having his training for the new role. In the last part of the episode, since Oliver already proved his allegiance to the League, the current Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) offered her daughter Nyssa (Katrina Law) a choice: marry Oliver or die.

Now in episode 22, it looks like a wedding is going to happen. However, it is apparent that this wedding is something that neither party wants. As a background, Oliver and Nyssa despise each other. No, that's an understatement; they tried to kill each other in the recent episodes. Who would want to marry an enemy? Not only that, since Nyssa al Ghul's sexuality is vague, she dated Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), whom Oliver also dated.

Meanwhile, Melty reports that the Team Arrow will try to bring back Oliver home. Laurel (Katie Cassidy), Malcolm (John Barrowman) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) make their way to Nanda Parbat, but Oliver will hamper them. Likewise, at the end of the promo vid for Episode 22, Arrow made a chilling response to Felicity's accusation: "Oliver Queen is dead."

Moreover, in the season finale entitled "My Name Is Oliver Queen," Oliver might finally let go of his new alter ego as Al Sah-Him and will go back to his usual self, ComicBookMovie speculates. So does this mean he will finally be ditching his plans to be the new Ra's al Ghul?

Since the finale's title was revealed, several speculations have emerged online. The title might also mean that Arrow will decide to reveal his real identity to the public, International Business Time reports. But if Oliver will finally ditch his alter ego, this might mean a chaos as the official synopsis says the current Ra's al Ghul will lay out his final plan in the finale. And it looks like it will endanger everyone.

The last episode is directed by John Behring with story by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim and Jake Coburn. The official synopsis reads: "Everyone's lives are in danger as Ra's al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable) puts forth his final plan. Oliver/Al Sah-him (Stephen Amell) must decide if he's strong enough to take on this new role and what it will mean for everyone on Team Arrow, and his soul."

Lots of speculations are emerging, but we can't still make the head or the tail of the episode. Maybe we are wrong and Oliver will continue to be the next Ra's al Ghul. For now, how are you seeing the finale of "Arrow" season 3? Do you think it will be explosive? Catch this final episode this May 13 entitled "My Name Is Oliver Queen," 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
