Patch 1.05 for Pillars of Eternity is reportedly a big one, with over a hundred changes set to be made to the game courtesy of this newest addition.
While it's highly unlikely anyone will actually take the time to count out all the many minor and major tweaks made to the game just to make sure it is over a hundred, it's also unlikely that the game's developer, Obsidian Entertainment, just made that wild claim without any reason whatsoever.
Regardless of the actual number, it does as look as though some genuine changes are being made to alter the game for the better. Some of the more notable changes being made via the patch include players now having the ability to rename their saved games, according to WCCF Tech.
Other notable additions coming via the patch include the new stash sorting, the news feed feature, color coordination for unique items stashed in the inventory, and even new hotkey options. Most of the changes being made to characters are simply being implemented to promote better balance all throughout, and the new fixes coming to quests are designed to make each one play out better.
Several new changes were also made to the user interface, so it's not at all unlikely for an old player to have some trouble adjusting to the new mechanics. It's worth noting that games to be saved with patch 1.05 already installed will not be compatible with earlier versions of Pillars of Eternity, according to Gameranx.
In related news, the documentary focusing on Pillars of Eternity is nearing completion. Obsidian Entertainment has also said that they will give Kickstarter backers an early look at the documentary prior to its release to the public, according to PC Gamer.
Lastly, patch 1.06 is already in the development stage, and fans can expect this one to be released before the end of the month.
