Few weeks ago, Oscar Pistorius has been making headlines not just because he was reported to having a 'privileged' life inside the jail, but because he might face murder charges for killing his ex-girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. To date, the amputee athlete is again making news mainly about his parole and plans after going out. Let's see what is happening to this successful sportsman.
According to recent reports, Pistorius is willing to help children if given the opportunity to live outside the cold bars of prison. Perhaps, he could focus on mentoring children with the same disability that he has. That way, he could inspire and eventually produce more future athletes.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Pistorius is regularly reading the bible and that he is coping well with his life behind bars. He continuously prays and that it gives him the strength that he apparently needs, most especially if he will face another trial for murder. He might be enjoying some perks, but there were confirmations that the once rich athlete has yet to pay for his legal fees. Is he already broke after facing all the legal battles?
If Pistorius is lucky, he could live a somewhat 'normal' life starting this August. Just so you know, South African law allows parole after serving 10 months in prison. Of course, there will be parameters that will be set. Let's see if the blade runner will be able to go out of his new 'home'.
Of course, this 'working with children' and 'reading the bible' news don't sit well with Steenkamp's supporters. They believe that Pistorius camp is just building a good image so that he will get the public's sympathy. But who can blame them?
Let's just wait if Oscar Pistorius will leave jail this August. Alongside that, will he push through with his plans to help children? Or will he focus on preparing for his another legal battle - murder charges for killing Reeva Steenkamp?
