Apple Watch Function VS Android Wear; Do features outweigh the brand?

By

Apple Watch functions are greeted with delight by Apple enthusiasts. Do its features stand out more than the brand as compared to Android Wear?

One of the most talked about Apple Watch function is the heart rate monitor. Its function was recently compared to electronic devices solely built for monitoring heart rates such as Mio Alpha and testers found Apple Watch's close accuracy to Mio. However, current Watch users commented that it doesn't continuously measure heart rates.

Another exciting Apple Watch feature is its ability to remotely control Apple TV and music on a Mac or PC. In addition, answering phone calls gives the Watch users an array of options like sending a text message to the caller instead of answering, putting the call on hold, switching from the watch to iPhone, adjusting volume, sending a voicemail as well as listening to one. These features are impressive for such a small and conveniently wearable unit but it has a few market competitions, Android Wear to be specific.

Android Wear features have some similarities with Apple Watch; one in particular is its Track Fitness. It's similar to Apple's heart rate monitor. The only difference is that Android monitors heart rate and step count continuously. Android Wear also has remote control capabilities for computerized devices such as electric garage doors, lights and thermo stats.

The Apple Watch competitor seems to have an edge in this match but Apple's remote camera view finder is something Android Wear doesn't have. Another useful feature for Apple is the Apple Pay which allows owners to make purchases in stores that accept the technology. Tech experts are also contributing observations between the two wearable devices.

A source has recently enumerated six Android Wear functions that affect the user experience for the watches which includes custom watch faces, always-on apps, stand alone Wi-Fi support, hand-drawn emoji, wrist-gesture control and pattern lock screen.

Both wearable makers are actively adding features and making new developments in their respective devices so it may take a long while to make a final conclusion on any of its aspects.
