There will be no more WWE 2K15 patches 1.06/1.07 and DLC releases in the future, 2K Games has officially confirmed.This recent news spawns slew of speculations that indeed WWE 2K16 is nearing its traditional release in October this year.
The last WWE 2K15 patch update rolled out on March 30 and as reported, no more DLC packs are coming, hence the team decided to stop the support for the game.
WWEGames' community manager Marcus Stephenson stated on the official forums saying,
"Hey everyone - sorry for the delay, but I wanted to be 100% sure.
I have confirmed with our dev team that there will be no more updates/patches for WWE 2K15. The team is hard at work building for the future, and all feedback in this thread and on this forum will be taken into account in the building process.
We have a lot to do and prove to you - thanks for sticking with us! We'll begin to show you the steps we're taking towards building the game/franchise that we all want."
As to the WWE 2K 16 release, the 101 reveals new details on early roster reveals for the next main title to the franchise including one legendary announcer via Youtube which you can view here.
Veteran wrestling announcer and commentator, Jim Ross is now on board for this game and dishes that the WWE 2K16 single player is 'extremely provocative' and 'has my attention already.'
Ross made a name for himself to wrestling fans today for his work in the Attitude era in the late '90s to early 2000s, introducing Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Mankind. He had his start in NWA/WCW and was a commentator for Atlanta Falcons for a season back in 1992.
Meanwhile, Zack Ryder, Sasha Banks, and Rosa Mendez have confirmed their presence in the game via Twitter respectively. In addition, Rusev and Randy Orton will certainly be part of the roster.
It's very likely that that 2K Games will bring WWE games to other platforms preceding WWE 2K15 release to PC.It may not be for purposes of additional sales but more on making the game available to all the fans. 2K Games might possibly bring WWE 2K16 to PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and maybe even tablets.
