Fear the Walking Dead is already shaping up to be quite the exciting zombie apocalypse prequel. Initial shooting is already well underway. The cast has been seen shooting on location in Vancouver.
According to the latest Fear the Walking Dead Production Update, AMC has already shot the pilot episode of The Walking Dead spinoff series. The report also states that AMC has already slated five episodes for the first season. While the cast has begun filming on location in Vancouver, there will also be filming in Los Angeles.
"Fear the Walking Dead takes us back to the earlier, more dangerous, more terrifying days of The Walking Dead. A time when danger was lurking around every corner and the thing mostly likely to get you killed was your own ignorance of the rapidly changing world around you." said show creator Robert Kirkman.
Cliff Curtis and Alycia Debnam Carey will be headlining the much-anticipated series. Both stars have been seen prepping in between scenes in the streets of the Canadian city. Other Fear the Walking Dead cast members include Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Mercedes Mason and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
While producers of the show remained silent as to any further details on the show, they were more than happy to tease fans with a brief teaser video.
"There's so much story by way of the zombie world that has to come. You expect a certain of thing of The Walking Dead. We want to give that sense and then pull the rug out from under them." said showrunner Dave Erickson.
The pilot episode for Fear The Walking Dead was reportedly shot in LA where the storyline takes place but the remaining episodes are currently being filmed in Vancouver city where production costs significantly lower.
Fear the Walking Dead is set to debut this summer.
