Sherlock Holmes is back for season 4 as BBC confirmed that indeed the well-loved character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The show's showrunner Steven Moffat had drop spoilers and multiple hints on what to expect for the upcoming season.
The upcoming season of Sherlock will be once again written by the trio (Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Stephen Thompson) who have been writing every Sherlock script. Meanwhile speculations on who will direct season four is still a question mark among the fans.
So far it is safe to assume that the main characters of the show including Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes), Martin Freeman (Doctor John Watson) and Amanda Abbington (Mary Morstan/Watson) will be back on the most awaited season but fans are still waiting whetehr Andrew Scott who plays the role of Jim Moriarty will be back to hunt Sherlock Holmes as the previous season ended with a cliff hanging statement that states "Miss me?"
Rumor has it that the much loved character of Mary Watson might probably pass away on the season 4 of Sherlock after Steven Moffat hinted that "it all goes to hell" on this season for Sherlock and John.
Like the former season of the show, the upcoming season of the show will be another "three stand-alone films, 90 minutes each and an ongoing mystery, as there sort of always is".
After the first season of the Sherlock, seasons two and three both aired on December and if the trend is followed, fans can expect season 4 to be come out around January of 2016.
