Metal Gear Solid 5 encounters controversy after new screenshots and a female figurine related to game were released

By

Even if Metal Gear Solid 5 appears to have already had its fill of controversy and uncertainty for one game release, it looks as though there's still more to come thanks to a new female figurine and a some new screenshots.

Starting with the new female figurine, the one in question is that of the already controversial, Quiet.

The figurine appears to be nothing out of the ordinary at first, especially given the character in question, as she is shown wearing her trademark, barely-there military style outfit while also sporting her sniper rifle, but it comes with a certain feature that people are not so sure about.

According to Gamespot, the figurine also happens to come with breasts that have been made using soft materials. The material composition allows for that particular part of Quiet's body to be fully adjustable. For his part, the man behind Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima, has commented on Quiet and her controversial depiction.

"Once you recognize the secret reason for her exposure, you will feel ashamed of your words & deeds," said Kojima.

Kojima also said players will know more about Quiet once the new game is released. The character Quiet, or at least her looks, were based on moded Stefanie Joosten. Joosten also provided the voice for Quiet in the game, according to the Metro UK.

Joosten herself said she was taken aback by the character's appearance, but she has not really objected to it. As for the controversial screenshot, the one making its way around the web at the moment is the picture of a doctor who makes an appearance in Metal Gear Solid 5.

The reason for the controversy is because the doctor in the game bears an almost uncanny resemblance to none other than Dr. Sergio Canavero. Dr. Canavero is known most for his work on head transplants.

Fans are starting to put two and two together, and they have begun speculating that the doctor's appearance is not mere coincidence, and may indeed hold greater significance as it relates to the game's larger storyline, according to WCCF Tech.

For now, fans can only wait until the game is released in September to find out if a connection actually exists.
