On the "Supernatural" season 10 finale titled "Brother's Keeper," the Winchesters is set to fight not an external monster but the internal evil residing Dean brought by Cain's Mark. Sam's determination to save his brother is beyond him already. Will he seal another deal with a demon to save Dean?
Dean Winchester is already in deep with the Mark of Cain, which will leave Sam desperate in saving him. The previous finales of "Supernatural" had the brothers fought different monsters, demons, and even angels. But their tenth season's arc followed Dean's struggle to fight the lust to kill caused by the Mark that Cain gave him in season 9. While Dean has been quite successful in fighting the curse throughout the season, the show's finale will see the brothers in dire situations just to fight their own demons.
According to Jensen Ackles, their ultimate adversary in this season's finale is as internal as it could get. It's a battle within, intensified by the brothers' issues with each other, but in the end their will to save each other prevail.
"It really is this inner struggle where Dean can't seem to get a grasp on the evil power that's inside him, and Sam can't seem to let go of trying to save his brother," said Ackles
However, Sam's innate choice to save Dean from the Mark could only lead to far worse circumstances. Misha Collins, who plays Castiel, revealed that the Save Dean squad will consider sealing a deal with another demon just to ensure Dean's survival. He hints that there will be "enormous sacrifices" on their part that even he cannot comprehend how they reached to that point.
"There's an episode towards the end of the season when we make a sacrifice that I was thinking, 'How are our characters okay with this? This is terrible, what we're doing. This is disgusting.' We're making some serious compromises in order to rescue Dean."
"Brother's Keeper" follows the "The Prisoner" episode where the Winchesters had to deal with the death of Charlie, played by Felicia Day. Her demise caused Dean's rage and hatred to take control over him, leading him to hunt the Stynes for going after Charlie and killing her.
"Supernatural" will end its tenth season with "Brother's Keeper" that sees Sam and Dean fight their internal battles, new deals with demons, and huge sacrifices. Season 10 finale airs May 20, on The CW Network.
