A new sci-fi film entitled "Alpha Squad Seven" is on the works and they have casted Dwayne "The Rock Johnson" to star in the upcoming film. According to a new report, the upcoming flick will be like the plot of "Armageddon" and "Guardians of the Galaxy."
In the report, the movie will be produced by Dreamwork and it was the original idea of Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer. The film is reportedly a four quadrant action and comedy movie that will take place in space.
Dwayne Johnson added in his statement that was released via his Instagram account: "And as for the fans - can't wait to create these characters for y'all - handsome, charming, ass kicking, flawed and slightly cranky of a hero leading the one and only Alpha Squad into space. And he may bring along some bald dude named Rock. #ALPHASquad7 #WhatHappensInSpace #StaysInSpace #WeHope."
Other actors and actresses to join "Alpha Squad Seven" has not been revealed yet but Johnson did announce that the film will also be directed by Steven Spielberg. The post of Johnson regarding the confirmation of his role in "Alpha Squad Seven" had over than 230,000 likes from his fans and followers in the said picture-sharing site.
Johnson is set to appear in many projects this year such as "San Andreas" that will be released later this May. He will also be part of a new HBO series entitled "Ballers" and is currently filming a new comedy flick called "Central Intelligence" with comedian Kevin Hart. Johnson will also be part of another Disney movie, which is "Moana," as he will be lending his voice to one of the characters.
