Nintendo has big plans for this year's E3 Conference. Nintendo plans to hold a Nintendo World Championship after 25 years in this year's E3 conference. Nintendo will also make Wii U Mario Maker playable in select Best Buy outlets. Nintendo is scheduled to hold its annual E3 presentation on Tuesday, June 16 at 9am Pacific Time.
Nintendo is scheduled to hold its press conference on June 16 at 9am PST this year, the same time that they do every year. This year however, Square Enix has scheduled the same briefing time as the company. So how will Nintendo make it better this year? By holding a Nintendo World Championship of course. Nintendo will also hold the briefing the same way that they have been approaching the E3 conference in recent years - through a digital event with pre-recorded videos instead of a live, in-person briefing like that of other companies. The digital event allows the company the freedom to do all the necessary work in advance, as well as avoid competing with other major conferences.
Nintendo will again feature a live, in-depth game coverege with the Nintendo Treehouse Live. The Nintendo Treehouse Live was first introduced last year as a bonus for those that were not able to attend the grand function. The Nintendo Treehouse Live streamed long hours of games all throughout the day for multiple days.
Although Nintendo has yet to announce which softwares will be featured on the company's briefing, we do know that Mario Maker will be playable before its scheduled release in the
Fall. The game is designed to have different levels played across different Super Mario Bros. styles. The Mario Maker for Wii U will be playable at Best Buy locations across North America.
Nintendo's list of potential softwares that may or may not be released during E3 for the Nintendo 3DS include the New Fire Emblem Game, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, and Yo-Kai Watch. For Wii U, a longer list can be expected:
Yoshi's Woolly World
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
Art Academy
Project Giant Robot
Project Guard
Star Fox
The Legend of Zelda
Devil's Third
Xenoblade Chronicles X
New Fatal Frame Game
The list may be subject to change depending on Nintendo's discretion of course. Fans however should expect to see a brand new set of games for the Nintendo consoles in E3 this year. The Nintendo World Championship will be making its debut after 25 years in this year's E3 Conference. The E3 conference is scheduled to start on Sunday, June 14 until Tuesday, June 16.
