Activision officially announces the return of the famous Tony Hawk video game series with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. This game is being developed by Robomodo and Disruptive Games.
Tony Hawk had been teasing in Twitter before the official announcement of the game. Now, the game is officially in development and is promising the return to the core gameplay that made the series very famous for a long time. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One late this year. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will also have the game, albeit will be released shortly after the current generation console's title. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will be priced $59.99 per Amazon listing for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, $39.00 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 will be employing the core gameplay of the first four titles of the series, hence it retained the "Pro Skater" title. This game will see the additions of power-ups and shooting projectiles in specific additions while the developers promise that the gameplay will be finely tuned.
There will be new set of levels with objectives. The missions can be completed either alone or with friends through online co-op. There is also multiplayer competitive play. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 can be played with either friends or strangers or the combination of both. Players can level up your character online and then take them offline. You can also create skate parks that can be shared to other people, friends and strangers all over the world.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 will have Tony Hawk and other series' regulars as well as the representatives of the new generation of skaters. Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds will appear in the game.
Robomodo is a game studio that had experience making Tony Hawk games like Tony Hawk: Ride, Tony Hawk: Shred, and Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD. Dirsruptive Games also worked on Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD.
