Henry Rollins, James Iha to star in Amazon's 'A History of Radness'

Hardcore punk band Black Flag's former vocalist Henry Rollins will join James Iha and guest star in the Amazon's newly ordered 'A History of Radness.' Following the siblings 'Tessie' and 'Jack,' these middle school kids will form a band and find their way through adolescence.

Aside from Henry Rollins, icons from the rock music industry were also named. The original music score will be created by James Iha (former guitarist of Smashing Pumpkins), The Thermals' Hutch Harris will write the original music, while Imagine Dragon's Dan Reynolds together with Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast are in-charge of the narrating the story.

Siblings Jack and Tessie are middle schools kids at Pleasant Meadows Middle School. They will put up a band and see what their future holds for them. Henry Rollins' role will be Coach Carlucci. It is not clear yet if Rollins will be a mainstay or his role as a coach will be only for the first episode.

"These new pilots will bring sophisticated stories and unique points of view that we hope will resonate well with kids and families. We're very excited to be working with such passionate creative teams and look forward to sharing these projects with our customers later this year," said Tara Sorensen, Amazon's head of kids programming.

Amazon has ordered six kid-related shows to be aired this summer, and 'A History of Radness' is one of these and is hoping for a green light to get a complete series.

Rollins was already seen on different kinds of shows and had roles on TV, documentaries and movies. 'Sons of Anarchy' was his recent appearance on screen. James Iha, too, had projects creating musical scores. His latest was for the series 'Deadbeat.'

Henry Rollins has his own kind of thinking, and this sometimes results to get different opinions from others. Motor Sister's Jim Wilson praised him and said that Rollins had changed his life, while the Cronos vocalist and Venom bassist said "He's not a f-king musician, he's a fool."
