Patrick Dempsey casted out of Greys Anatomy after allegedly having a steamy affair with a younger staff in the series.
McDreamy fans are probably still mourning over his sudden death in the long-running medical series Greys Anatomy. Being Meredith's husband, and being a big character in the show, Dr. Derek Sheperd's death was a big surprise to everyone, apparently, even to him. Reports say Dempsey still has a year on his contract in the series.
What caused his departure from the series is pretty controversial. It was reported that Dempsey has been acting like a diva on set. Reports have it that he has been coming in late and forgot about his lines. After that, it was said that he was being a pain on set and that pushed the series' creator, Shonda Rhimes, to fire him.
But other reports say that the cause wasn't just Dempsey's diva attitude. Rumors have been spreading that Dempsey has been sleeping with a staff in the series. Dempsey has reportedly been spending inappropriate "intimate" time with a staff since August last year. " Reports say that it was obvious that something was going on between the two, because after Dempsey did it with the staff, he refuses to come out of his trailer.
Word is, the stories about the two reached Dempsey's co-actor, and on-screen wife, Ellen Pompeo who also happened to be his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jillian Fink's close friend. Pompeo wasn't happy about the news and told Fink about it. In January, Fink filed for divorce.
Despite these reports, Dempsey recently said in a statement that the rumors were "absurd" and that he wasn't fired from the series. "It just sort of evolved. It's just kind of happened. It really was something that was kind of surprising that unfolded, and it just naturally came to be. Which was pretty good. I like the way it has all played out.", he responded in a statement.
Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink were married for fifteen years, in which they had three children, Talula, Darby, and Sullivan.
