Rapper Chinx Murdered During Drive-By Shooting, Rob Kardashian And Other Artists React To Killing

An upcoming artist named Chinx, a rapper close to French Montana and Meek Mill, was killed on Sunday, May 17, during a drive-by shooting. Friends and musicians close to the said rapper took to Instagram and Twitter to mourn for their loss.

Robert Kardashian was one of the many who gave a tribute to Rapper Chinx as he shared a photo of him with the rapper while they were relaxing at a pool side. He shared in the caption: "Rest in peace Chinx ,,,, gone way too soon."

Meek Mill also posted a heart-warming and lengthy post regarding his friend's death. He said, "This is exactly why I don't play in the streets. I tell @Omelly and my real day 1s get out that hood no matter what it cost or the circumstance! It's nothing that add up to losing ya life at a young age!!!"

Rapper Chinx, who was born as Lionel Pickens, 31 and from Queens, was reportedly dropping off a friend somewhere in Queens. He even performed on Saturday evening hours before he was gunned down on Sunday morning. An hour after a cellphone video was released on the internet showing his performance, news broke that a gunman opened fire on the rapper's Porsche causing him to be fatally shot.

Another person was said to have been wounded in the shooting but was not identified by name but was said to be another performer. According to reports, the person was rushed to the Jamaica Hospital and is in critical condition.

Mourners gathered in Queens where he was shot and Chinx's family, friends and fellow rappers played his music as they feel this was the best way to honor him aside from lighting candles and placing flowers at the scene of the crime.

DJ Babyface, who is close to Chinx, shared that there was no one who seemed to have a problem with Chin when he performed at a night club on Saturday evening. People were reportedly getting their photos taken with the upcoming artist and they were very warm towards the rapper when he got up the stage.

According to an eyewitness, although Chinx was already fatally shot, he managed to drive his Porsche but crashed into another parked car. He then fell on the ground and was motionless before police officials arrived. An investigation is still underway regarding the shooting as police have no leads yet or any motive about the killing.

Chinx was part of the "Coke Boys" group of French Montana and is a solo artist. He was reportedly working on his debut album before his untimely death.
