A new game is on the horizon that promises the freedom of Skyrim in the Diablo environment developed with the CryEngine 3, but it needs your help in order to realize its full potential. Steam Greenlight community realizes the game's potential. When the game gets a green light, Umbra will be available for PC and Linux systems.

SolarFall Games is certainly creating much needed buzz in order to get backing for their ambitious, new game Umbra. Umbra now has a Kickstarter campaign that are generating backers from around the world that are definitely interested in the game's full development. The small, indepenedent team of game developers from Nice, France utilizes the Kickstarter Campaign in order for Umbra to be fully realized through the game's audience without private investors or publishers to hinder the game's original vision. At present, Umbra's Kickstarter Campaign has more than three thousand backers closing in on $100,000 worth of pledges with 27 days to go to make their pledge goal of $225,000. The game is also featured as a Kickstarter Staff Pick. Pledges get alpha, beta, or prototype access to the game depending on their pledge category.

Umbra is now also featured on Steam Greenlight, Steam's community of gamers that pick new games to be released on Valve Corporation's internet based digital distribution platform. Umbra has so far gathered positive reviews from the Steam Greenlight community. Many are agreeing that the game is definitely interesting, and gamers have high hopes for the new storyline and visually stunning graphics. For a small independent team such as SolarFall Games, the visuals alone will convince even a non-gamer that the team is dedicated and passionate in seeing Umbra through to the end.

Umbra is an open world RPG similar to Skyrim, but with more of a Diablo 1 and 2 inspired theme. Your characters are highly customizable to the extent that the character can wear two different shoulderpads, your weapons can be customized, and your character morphs into its Apocalyptic Form, developing special powers according to your play style. With as much complexity as there are to the customizable factors of the game, the gameplay is fairly simple. Character development has only three resources: Rage, Stamina and Mana. Elemental skills are also limited to Fire, Frost, Water and Lightning. Character statistics are also only limited to Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Power. The rest of the effort would come from customizing characters, leveling up skills, or looking for loot.

Umbra is developed by SolarFall Games using the software framework game design CryEngine 3 for PC and Linux systems, and is now open for pledged through the game's Kickstarter Campaign.
