‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Season 7: Callen’s backstory continues; Show’s reboot in the works due to declined ratings?

By

For sure, 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 7 is coming up. Season 6 finale revealed that Callen's (Chris O' Donnell) father is very much alive and well. The recently eneded season also teased up some backstory for Callen, while indicating his future at the same time. Despite the recently dropped ratings, Season 7 is set for 2016. Will the show need a reboot to gain back its viewers?

As the Season 6 finale of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 6 came to a close, Callen finally found the answers he was searching for about his long lost father, Nikita Reznikov. After a heartbroken Callen visited what he assumed to be his father's grave, Reznikov appears walking into a diner and drinking a cup of coffee, and missing his son by moments.

Now, we are left with another question: Where should the series go from here? Given that Callen believes the long search for the truth about his father is over, Reznikov's survival is going to be featured in 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 7. The show may also make the most out of Kensi and Deeks' relationship, as they get back together. Some Callen and Sam backstory may also be featured. And, why not and expose the entire team to new threats, as they just got themselves back to Moscow.

Anything but fresher and more exciting scenes are what 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 7 needed to gain viewership. Season 6 finale ratings did not perform so well. The series has averaged a 1.62 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.32 million for the 6th season. There really is visible decline of 34% in demographic and 37% in viewership. Despite this, 'NCIS: Los Angeles' stays in the top five highest rated drama series for CBS this season, which secures them to be renewed for another season.

Fans, what can you say about the Season 6 finale? Are you excited for 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 7?
