Is Boba Fett coming to Star Wars: The Force Awakens? That's the rumor and it's not impossible. Although studio execs are keeping mum about the subject, George Lucas himself confirmed that Fett is not dead, so there really is a big possibility that the mercenary will be part of the seventh film.
The last time that hired mercenary Boba Fett was seen was in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, where he was sent to hi apparent demise in the Sarlacc Pitt. We assume that he was eaten as a chunky snack. But according to Star Wars experts, the Sarlacc will only swallow its prey and digest it for YEARS. So if Fett was indeed swallowed by the Sarlacc, it could take a very long time to digest him with all the armor he wears. And him staying alive all these years is very much possible.
Boba Fett is one of the most popular characters in Star Wars and he has gained a lot of fans even as just being a recurring baddie for hire. His assumed death in Return of the Jedi has caused heatache to some fans, but as the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens draws nearer, rumors have broken out about the fan favorite coming back to life. Even George Lucas himself confirmed that Fett is not dead, so hopes are high for his comeback.
Although it has not yet been confirmed yet, and no actor was rumored to be playing the role, there's a big possibility of Fett;s appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And it is reported that his ordeal in the Salacc's insides as well as why he survived will be shown and explained in the film.
All these are still speculations, though. But if Lucas himself says Fett is not dead, then we can expect a big comeback, if not it The Force Awakens, maybe in future sequels. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18, 2015.
