Halo 3: ODST is currently being remade and the updated version is said to be released sometime this month. Along with an updated version of Halo 2, it was announced that both games will be added to the Halo: The Master Chief Collection by June.
First released in September 2009, Halo 3: ODST puts players on the boots of one of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) and brings them back to the setting of Halo 2. The game is set during the Battle of Earth and focuses on some of the untold stories of the said battle. Players, as elite ODSTs will be dropped on the ruins of New Mombasa to figure out why the Covenant attacked the city.
Halo is a first-person shooter game and players will take on the role of one of the Troopers where players can play any of the mission-based modes, co-op modes that allow players to fight against invading Covenant troops, as well as online multi-player battles.
The game's publisher, Microsoft Studios, has recently announced that the updates will be available sometime this May to address many of the issues that players encountered with the games. As part of The Master Chief Collection, Halo 3: ODST will have updates in Ranking, where consistency and penalties are resolved. Unlocking issues in the Achievement mode is also being improved, assuring players that there wouldn't be difficulties in this area anymore. And of course, the update also improves the overall stability of the games as well as the user interfaces across titles that are part of the collection.
More details should be available to players at the game's website as the Halo 3: ODST's updated campaign along with the rest of the titles in The Master Chief Collection becomes available sometime this month. Players who have already purchased the collection before December 19 last year can download the updates for free.
