'Epic' doesn't even start to define the features of the upcoming action video game of EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE), Star Wars: Battlefront 3. 'Authentic' is more like it!
The game is set to be released in North America on November 17 this year and November 20 in the UK. That is for Microsoft Windows (PC), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Niklas Fegraeus, design director of DICE, said that part of their plans is to create an all-new Star Wars gaming universe.
He said that it was not easy to do but the hard work truly paid off as the game appears to be very authentic and truly an immersive experience, which gamers would have to find out for themselves when the game rolls out to the gaming consoles and the PC in November this year.
Reports said that unlike the two previous games, Star Wars: Battlefront 3 will pave way for a more detailed environment rather than large-scale destructions. This makes the game different, and all the more authentic.
"For those not in the mood for large scale battles, we have created Missions where players can, for example, take on armies of AI or test their piloting skills," he said.
More so, the Squadron Fighter will also make its debut and players can get their own taste of aerial combat in the commencement of the space battles' return. Fegraeus revealed that the new game mode will focus on Starfighter battles made specifically for dogfighting fans.
It was said that the game's release was picked on such date so it would go hand-in-hand with the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18.
He also said that to make the game more appealing, the game will comprise of both 1st and 3rd person.
"The way we want to do this is by taking inspiration from the old games' foundations, like the use of both 1st and 3rd person views and the ability to play as heroes."
It is also said that flying vehicles like Y-Wings and TIE Bombers will also be available in a multitude of game modes and it will not require killstreaks to unlock.
Fegraeus stated that "Fun is the essence of Star Wars." It's partly right, but fun is an understatement. Fans can't wait for the game anymore.
