The season 6 finale of the TV hit series The Vampie Diaries ended heartbreakingly (so heartbreakingly fans have raged twitter) last week with Nina Dobrev leaves the show while her role, Elena, went down to a Sleeping Beauty-like coma after sacrificing for her friend. Though the show's executive producers said that Dobrev will be back anytime as the series moves along. However, Micheal Trevino, playing Tyler, had also left the show shortly after Dobrev.
What's more, the season ended with a finale filled with heart-stopping and tongue-gripping scenes as Matt Davis, playing Alaric, lost his wife Jo, played by Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and tried to kill himself. And Trevino killed his girlfriend Liv, played by Penelope Mitchell to save his life. And Mystic Falls was shown very destroyed apocalyptic-style in the final scene, leaving hints to the following season.
And while the series is up for another season, where the execs haven't revealed when yet, Executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries expressed plans on the plot.
Drie told E! News that the last part of the sixth season will be explained during the premiere of the seventh, that mysterious scene of the dejected, all-destroyed Mystic Falls.
She also said that there will be an all-out conflict between the Salvatore brothers, Damon and Stefan against their mother Lily and the rest of the Salvatore heretics. She said that 'It's going to be two warring factions pitted against each other.'
And while we are grieving for the departure of Elena, as much as we are with the rest of the #Delena fever, it seems that Dobrev is moving on and is happy with her live for now. Does this mean that she isn't returning soon?
She said in the latest issue of Self Magazine that she could now get to live her human life.
She said, "Looking back on the last six years, which I've been doing a lot of through my pictures and the fans, it's almost like a relationship. The fans are as much a part of our family as we are on set and so I'm really happy I got to go on this journey and we got to experience this together. It's been great and I'm so grateful to have been a part of it and now it's time for me, Nina, to get to go off and live my human life."
