Legend of Zelda Release Date Postponed to 2017: Nintendo explores exciting gameplay possibilities; Smartphone games and new console in the works

By

Legend of Zelda continues to make its fans wait for its next game release. To be more specific, the time when the next title in the Nintendo franchise is coming out has become unknown, after initial rumors that it should be available by late 2015 or early 2016.

A lot of fans have been anticipating Legend of Zelda after its trailer for Wii U was released. There were even hints that E3 2015 would be the perfect time to learn more about the game. Unfortunately, recent reports suggest that the game will not make an appearance even in 2016. This means that it will be another couple of years for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to stand as the most recent release in the franchise.

Nintendo has released its financial report for the past year this month. It showed that the date for the game to come out is labelled "TBD." One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the game developer makes sure that its games are already the best they can be once they come out. Legend of Zelda producer, Eiji Aonuma, wants to make sure that this is understood by the game's fans.

This means that a positive perspective could be gained from this delay. For one thing, Nintendo reports that they are postponing the game because they were able to find "several new possibilities" when it comes to enhancing the title.

Further announcements from the company say that they are also planning to provide games for smartphones through a collaboration with DeNA. They are also in the process of bringing a new console by the name of "NX."

Legend of Zelda will no longer be one of the games to expect this year and even in 2016. With this delay to 2017 or beyond, it is also possible that announcements on E3 2015 would not be made. Fans should come back later for more updates on this matter.
