Apple Inc, after its shareholder meeting, is now keen on doing business and one of its projects is its current discussions with Beats Electronics LLC. The audio technology company is co-founded by Dr Dre, hip hop icon and Jimmy Iovine, the music business giant.
The partnership involves Beats' under wraps music streaming business, according to three separate individuals familiar with the discussions. Tim Cook, Apple CEO met with Iovine, current Beats CEO to discuss the audio technology company's 'Project Daisy'. This is a music subscription service announced by Beats but without much details provided. Another attendee was Eddy Cue, one of the key people that set up the iTunes Music Store. Iovine also is the current chairman of Interscope-Geffen-A&M.
Both Apple and Beats declined to comment on the discussion.
One of the key issues is that Beats has a standing commitment with HTC Corp, a rival of Apple Inc in the smartphone business.
