For PS3/PS4 fans, Persona 5 may no longer be but a fantasy as the role-playing game that gets you summoning different facets of psyche is set to be released before the year ends. While it may have been predicted that the next Persona iteration that the much-awaited game will be out before 2015 ends, certain adjustments and improvements deemed necessary by developer Atlus may be distruptive - leading fans away.
It's no secret Persona has been well-received and its journey to get into the mainstream has been a lot faster than most - selling over 6 million copies worldwide as a franchise. However, what is feared by a slew of game enthusiasts right now is that developer's trust towards a more randomly-generated set-up may be counterproductive.
As reported before, Persona 5 is up and coming within Q4 or the fourth quarter of the year. That would fall well within October and December which should be available for both the Japanese and American market. The reveal was done as the parent company wrapped its fiscal year last March 2015. Additionally, four Japanese games will be launched before the Persona 5 iteration.
On the roll:
- Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai Deluxe (Nintendo 3DS - May 28)
- Stella, Glow (Nintendo 3DS - June)
- Alien Isolation ( Xbox One/PS4 - June )
- Persona 4: Dancing All Night (PS Vita)
And though Persona 5 is expected to be for PS3 and PS4 fans alike, its reinvigorated design is to feature randomly generated elements adding more 'surprise' in the works. For instance, entire dungeons conjured to add more sizzle to the exciting game play.
However, this new aggressive venture to the unexpected - the twists and turns - could destroy the very thing that it want to add value to. To note, a huge chunk of the success of Persona as a franchise can be attributed to its finely crafted environment; putting unpredictability could make the game's iteration and its popularity nosedive - as fast as it rose.
Added to this, there is also the thrust towards a more "everyday" thing, making the storyline stay as close as possible to the nuances of daily living. Needless to say, the game is set to deviate in a major way from the "Persona 4" storyline.
But with reportedly more enhanced graphics and a much more "nasty" party members, Persona 5 should be riveting!
