The Marvel Universe is one conjured fandom universe we want to live in along with Hogwarts, Narnia, Middle Earth, Camelot and other make believe places that we wanted to be real but sadly are not.
Well brace yourselves Marvel fans because Marvel Studios has confirmed Captain Marvel this 2018: The first female-fronted superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel's President Kevin Feige confirmed the news last October 2014 in which he also revealed the full line up of the Phase 3 of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"This Captain Marvel's name is Carol Danvers," said Feige. He also shared that the film has been in the works almost as long as Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy before it came out.
It's already been a couple of months since the announcement but there are still no official updates about the movie. It is said, though, that Marvel wants the writers of the upcoming film to be females as well. Isn't it great? Both front and behind are run by females.
The writers of Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy and Disney's upcoming movie Inside Out, Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve respectively, are being targeted to be the writers of the movie.
In addition, there are still no news who will play Carol Danvers, a United States Air Force officer who got caught in an explosion of a Kree device which resulted for her to have superpowers. One of the basic superpowers of Captain Marvel is that she is super strong and she can fly. We have yet to see who Danvers is.
As of now, there is no official director for Captain Marvel. But it is rumored that actress turned director Angelina Jolie would be perfect for the task.
Indeed, Captain Marvel is a female-driven movie. Captain Marvel is the 20th movie installment in the Marvel Universe. It is announced that the movie will be released on July 6, 2018.
