The Avengers franchise brought together a stellar cast of superheroes - Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Incredible Hulk. Now that Sony relinquished creative control of Spider-Man to Marvel Studios, talks have been made that more crossover movies are set to happen soon.
According to some rumors, 'X-Men' and 'Fantastic 4' are the ones eyed to crossover. Fox Pictures may be mum for the meantime but nonetheless, the opportunities of having such films could be possible. Here are the list of crossover films possible:
- 'Doctor Strange and Vision' mash-up - It was announced that Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing Doctor Strange in 2016. Rumor has it that the popular Marvel sorcerer may be joined by Vision at some point of his franchise. They complement each other's magical abilities and may form a mystical beyond-mortal duo.
- 'Incredible Hulk and Black Widow' crossover - The green superhero disappeared in the last scene of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'. It may take this crossover to bring him back. Marvel might also continue highlighting the chemistry between the two in an action-and-misfit blockbuster feature. Plus, it'll be Ruffalo's chance for a Hulk movie outside 'Avengers'.
- 'Spider-Man and Starlord' buddy film - According to reports, the new webslinger, Asa Butterfield, may be sharing the big-screen with the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in a not-so-long future. The two franchises may stand ground on a common plot which may involve both earthbound NYC and the intergalactic space.
Let's also not forget that the third installment, 'Captain America: Civil War' will be featuring some crossovers, too. Aside from its already fascinating cast, with Iron Man and the other Avengers, Spider-Man and Ant-Man are rumored to join in on the 'civil war' action.
The most awaited film, however, is 'Avengers: Infinity War' which will feature the titanic mash-up of heroes ever made. It's set to be released on 2018-2019.
