After Disney's remakes of classic tales such as Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and Cinderella, they are it again. Disney will do a remake of Beauty and The Beast.
Beauty and the Beast is a classic fairytale about a beautiful girl who falls in love with, well, a beast. A seemingly mean beast at that.
Though, there was already a remake of Beauty and the Beast back in 2011 starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer entitled Beastly. But that one has a more modern appeal. We know Disney, they're more into singing, glitters, fancy gowns, overly done hair and tights for men.
The much anticipated remake of Beauty and The Beast will officially hit the theaters in two long years. While we wait for two years for that anticipated day, Disney has announced the star studded cast of the magical tale.
Leading the ball with her golden yellow dress is Emma Watson as the beautiful bookworm Belle. She'll be dancing with the mysterious and anguished Beast who will be played by Downtown Abbey star Dan Stevens.
Alongside them are Emma Thompson at Mrs. Pot, Ian McKellen at Cogsworth, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Garderobe and Stanley Tucci as Cadenza.
The newest addition to the star-studded cast is Big Fish star Ewan McGregor as Lumiere. He is now on the final negotiations with Disney regarding the role.
Beauty and the Beast will be directed by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon. While the fairytale classic will be rewritten by Perks of The Wallflower author Stephen Chbosky. And just this month, they have started filming. We pretty much expect a behind the scene photos.
Aside from Beauty and the Beast, Disney plans to do a remake of Disney classics such as of Dumbo, Pinocchio and Mulan.
The magical tale will officially be released on March 17, 2017.
