It has been awhile since the release of the last Narnia movie. Five years to be exact. But fans should not fret.The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is currently in production. Though, there are only a few details we know about the fourth installation of the series.
Walden Media first announced that the next installation in The Chronicles of Narnia will be the Magician's Nephew, which is the prequel of the whole series. This aims to reboot the series since the last movie, The Voyage of The Dawn Treader, didn't quiet live up to the expectations of everyone.
Maybe the slow decline of the Narnia franchise is due to the religious theme that is underlying in the series?
Whatever the reason is, the Narnia fans were disappointed and the pockets of the producers were, as well. It grossed less than the first two installments which was distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The third installment was, however, distributed by 20th Century Fox.
But since the contract between C.S. Lewis Empire, the author of fantasy series, and Walden Media has expired, Mark Gordon Company decided to pick up the franchise. The said company then decided to proceed with The Silver Chair instead of the supposed prequel The Magician's Nephew.
Though, a lot of Narnia fans aren't happy with the decision. Saying it would have been better and wiser for the producers to choose Magician's Nephew instead to revive the world of Narnia.
Right now, Mark Gordon Company, with the help of other people, are working with the upcoming film's script. Let's just hope it's far better than the last one.
We hope to see Liam Neeson as the king of Narnia once again in the new installation.
The world of Narnia will be feasted upon the eyes of the fans once again on its theatrical release in 2016. It better be greater than the last one. We don't wanna see a good franchise to flop.
