"American Horror Story: Hotel" will still take a couple of months before it airs on the small screen; however, fans have already begun theorizing over what the FX thriller series holds for them in season 5. Ryan Murphy recently hinted several details of what's next in AHS 5, which leads fans to believe that the series will take on a horror/musical spin.
"American Horror Story: Hotel" will see the return of regular series members Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Chloe Sevigny, Evan Peters, Matt Boner, Wes Bentley and Angela Bassett sans Jessica Lange. AHS season 5 will also introduce new faces including Lady Gaga, Max Greenfield and Cheyenne Jackson.
While plot details about the highly anticipated FX thriller series are still unknown, Vanity Fair pieced together several clues as to what fans can expect from "American Horror Story" when it returns for season five. According to the outlet, showrunner Ryan Murphy has previously hinted that fans will realize that all the previous books in AHS are interconnected.
According to the outlet, AHS season five will most likely take place in modern day, citing how its previous odd-numbered seasons were set in modern day. "Hotel" will also be filmed in Los Angeles and the recent revelation about the shooting location led several fans to speculate that the series will be inspired by the drowning incident of a Canadian student named Elisa Lam at the Cecil Hotel in 2013.
Lam was reportedly found in a water tank, but camera footage prior to the incident revealed that the student showed erratic behavior in the elevator. The said hotel has also reportedly housed in several serial killers including Beth Short, who appeared in "American Horror Story" season 1 and was played by Mena Suvari.
Meanwhile, there are also rumors that "American Horror Story: Hotel" will take on a musical spin following a recent revelation from Murphy that the "arcane" Top Hat clue from season 4 was taken from the 1935 classical film, "Top Hat."
This also coincides with the recent casting of Lady Gaga, who is known for her crazy antics in the dance floor. The addition of Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson and "New Girl" Max Greenfield are also known for being good dancers, which leads others to believe that 'AHS: Hotel' will exemplify the perfect balance between music, dance and horror.
